'217' started of with Elias Aggelis (IHOS) and Nikos Kokkosalakis (LYRICAL) back in 2004 where the name came from the hotel room number they stayed at during a school trip. The number represented the good times and friendships that endured.
They were in the beginning, getting their beats of from Snap Yo Fingaz (Manolo) But due to the long distance and hectic lifestyle 217 needed a beat for XL magazine (a car tuning magazine) for their upcoming DVD that escorted their issues.
217 Made their own beat , and were refered to Algorhythm for the mixing by Strovillos who were close friends. Algorhythm after hearing the beat decided that it could be improved, so he got rid of their beat kept the vocals and made something completely new.
The result was XL magazine being so impressed that they even made it into a videoclip which was a phenomnenal success in tha car tuning circuit. It was also the start of a new collaboration between Algorhythm and 217.
At the time Algorhythm already knew Snap Yo Fingaz from earlier days as they were introduced to each other by a founder of one of the biggest hip hop sites in Greece.
