Desolation

Formed in Athens in 91, ETHEREAL was created as an avenue to vent frustrations for former members of DESOLATION, Vangelis (Drums and Percussion) and Necromayhem (Rotting Christ)(Singer of DESOLATION Antonis singer of ETHEREAL now). After years of being committed to their band they decided to dabble in different musical, avenues and set out to create their own version of Death Metal phenomenon. The band recorder a 3 song tape in January 1990 which was about to be released as a split LP with the Colombian Death Metal legend, MASACRE (RIP) by the UNISOUND former DECAPITATED records. Finally three tracks appeared in a German Compilation CD.It was the beginning of the Death Metal explosion early of this decade influenced by bands such as CELTIC FROST POSSESSED the band began writing more songs and searching for perfect members to complete the line up. In 91 Necromayhem left the band to concentrate in ROTTING CHRIST and the band change the name to ETHEREAL. The line up was also completed by Andre (vox) Chris (guitars) and Peri on bass.
