Giorgos Dimitriadis was born in Anarrahi (Tepre) Ptolemaida. His roots from Pontos are from Garali Kerasounta and Loria Argyropolis (Gumushane). During his childhood years he grew up in a pure Pontian village, along with his grandparents, learning the Pontian dialect very well. He learned how to play lyra at a rather older age, at 19, having his father's lyra playing as an influence during his childhood years; since he was able to learn fast and apply his knowledge into actual performance, he quickly becomes a professional lyra player and, later on, singer. In the beginning years of his professional career, he is the lyra player for the dancing troupe of the society Efxinos Leshi in Ptolemaida. Combining what he learns from this experience, together with the fountain of knowledge he received by growing up with first generation born Pontians, he focused on his professional career and began performing at the nightclub "Xenitea" in Ptolemaida in 1979. In 1981 he performs at the nightclub "Pontos" in Ptolemaida.
