Five Star Hotel

Five Star Hotel were formed in 2001 in England. Its members met that year at the University of Birmingham and started writing their own music. Upon finishing their studies and returning to Greece (Thessaloniki, their hometown), they recorded the CD-single This Is The Night (On Stage Records). So far the group has been the support band for Six by Seven, Electrelane, Nouvelle Vague, and Saint Etienne, has appeared in the Documentary festival in Thessaloniki and has also played live in Larissa and Athens.
Five Star Hotel’s sound is influenced by the English indie pop scene and bands such as Belle and Sebastian, Charlatans, Pulp, New Order and Air. Songs of the group have been in included two compilations. These are Εnjoy the Greeks (On Stage Records 2004, “I want you”) and on the Coca Cola Sound Wave CD (“Sunshine”). Now the group is recording its debut album which will include 10 songs and will be released on On Stage Records in 2008.
