Biography

Yiotis Fotiadis was born abroad and lived there up to the age of five. In 1977, together with his parents and his younger brother Costas, he settled down in Thessaloniki and, one year later, permanently in Athens.
Since childhood, Yiotis, had shown talent in music and sports. He played football until the age of 16 but was eventually won over by music and singing. He would often sing with his friends from school and his teacher and classmates would urge him to take up singing professionally.
After school, Yiotis started music lessons at the National Athens Conservatory but two years later he had to interrupt his studies to join the army.
In 1990, Yiotis playing his guitar sang songs of Elvis Presley, the Beatles and other popular artists of the 60’s and 70’s at the municipal theatre of Kallithea at a musical evening organized by the guitar school which he attended.
Two years later, Yiotis joined the army at Kilkis and was discharged from Lemnos after numerous participations in various army events.
