Biography

Manolis Hrisafakis was born in Smirni in 1895. His origins came from family of musicians. In 1917 he moved to Thessaloniki and volunteered to National Security movement. After that he got back to Smirni where he was arrested in 1922 by Turks. The exchange of prisoners leads him to Greece where he finally settled down. He recorded his first albums in 1930. He was a member of many folk bands-groups. He passed away on 11 of April in 1972.
