Kalimeri Lizeta

Lizeta Kalimeri was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. Since she was a little girl she has been playing the guitar and singing. It wasn't much later when she started performing her favourite songs in the local musical scene. Armed with an expressive voice this exceptional singer has the gift of transforming lyrics into vivid musical images touching directly one’s soul. During the years she has collaborated and performed with many of the prominent figures of greek music such as Nikos Kypourgos, Stavros Kougioumtzis, Manolis Rasoulis, Haris Alexiou, Eleni Vitali, Christos Tsiamoulis, Loudovikos ton Anogion, Thanasis Papakonstantinou, Socratis Malamas, Orfeas Peridis, Nikos Xidakis, Maria Farantouri, Manolis Lidakis, Alkinoos Ioannidis, Vasso Allayianni, Manolis Mitsias, Melina Kana, Savina Yiannatou, Hronis Aidonidis and others.
Her debut album "Pnoi tou anemou" (Wind blow) with songs by composer Yorgos Kazantzis was published in 1994. Followed by a project that dives deep into greek oriental musical tradition along with rembetiko singer Maryo.
