Andreas Karakotas was born in 1966 in Salonika. At the age of 19, he started performing and met Manos Xatzidakis, who invited him to perform in one of his plays, which was recorded some time later. During the following years, he became one of Xatzidakis’ favorite singers and performed in his plays, in recordings as well as live.
In 1998, he performed as a guest in the 8th Biennale of Dance and Music in Lyon, France. He sang with Dora Bakopoulou in Salle Moliere and accompanied by four musicians he presented a tribute to Greek music in Maison de la Danse, giving ten live performances.
He has worked with several artists like Mikis Theodorakis, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Stavros Kougioumtzis, Manolis Rasoulis etc, recorded two solo albums and has taken part in several recordings, cooperating with Kostas Kaldaras, Nikos Xidakis, Petros Vagiopoulos etc.
