Kiriazis Giannis

Giannis Kiriazis was born in 1915, in Kavala where he learned to play the guitar. In 1937 he moved to Thessaloniki where he studied classic guitar. He met many famous bouzouki players there, like Vasilis Tsitsanis, Markos Vamvakaris and Giannis Papaioannou. During the occupancy period he becomes a rebel, which was the reason why he was locked up in jail a few years later. In 1946 he secretly moved to Athens. In 1947 he recorded his first songs.
