Loonattack

Dimitris Athanasiou (the pianist) and Pantelis Mavroudis (the guitarist) after jamming together in a previous cover band, decided to express their inner anxiety by forming a new band. The music living inside their heads (from Rachmaninov and Pink Floyd to Pearl Jam, Opeth and Jazz music) differed significantly yet it made them eager to see how it could be combined.

Somewhere on the neighborhood, another passionate man George Tziouvaras (the vocalist) had decided to walk alone the hard road of music by making a project on his own ("Civil Project") influenced by various sounds from classical music to trip-hop (Puccini, Radiohead, Massive Attack e.t.c.).

That period of time the Opera of Thessaloniki was producing an opera act where George was participating as a Baritone. John Rizopoulos (the drummer-percussionist) was at the percussion section of the orchestra at the same production. From the island of Rhodes, he had his own perception about rhythm drawn from very different worlds:the traditional music of Rhodes,classical music and rock.
