Moa Bones is a music project of Dimitris Aronis, which was created during the autumn of 2009 in Athens, Greece. The first steps practically were made in 2006, when, under the name “Palindrom”, they recorded their first tracks, which with their plain and subtle arrangements reminded something of the psychedelic folk-pop songwriting of the 60s.
At that time, the members of the group were Dimitris Aronis (voice, classical guitar) and Evangelia Ksinopoulou (voice, piano).
The result from this period of sparse recordings was a 3-track mini EP entitled “By my side”, which was handed out to the audience at their appearance as an opening act to Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals), at the AN Club venue in Athens, in 2007.
Other special appearances of this period included performances at the 1st Burnt Festival in 2006 (Small Music Theater), at the “Roes” Theater in 2007, and as part of the European Day of Music festival, which was held in various venues around Athens in June (Kinky Kong, 2008).
