In 1989 Nikos (guitar/vocals) formed an original punk band (drawing also inspiration from extreme hardcore outfits), under the name RIGMA.
Between 1989 and 1993 they toured all over Grece giving intense live shows to schools, small clubs and politically ocupied resorts. In 1994 they released their first album entitled "O Teleutaios Aionas", which was received with great enthusiasm by the local punk/core scene. At the same time another band named OLETHROS was roaming the scene, formed by the singer/guitarist Emi. It was supposed to be an all-female band but it didn't work out. Eventually Emi joins RIGMA as a bass player and continues with her own band using session musicians.
Both bands shared the same stage quite often, playing similar styles of extreme music so they desided to unite and become one solid force under the moniker of OLETHRIO RIGMA. In 1996 the band released its first album, entitled simply "Olethrio Rigma". This time the music was more aggressive and powerful than ever.
