Petros Papaemmanouil was born in Drama in 1974 where he completed his basic education. Since the age of 6, he has been occupied with Byzantine music and Folk singing. In 1995 he got his degree and in 1997 he received his diploma in Byzantine music (class of Precentor Charilaos Taliadoros, School, Byzantine music of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki). He also has a degree in Harmony and has graduated from the Theological school of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
From 1993 until 1994 he was a third church chorister at the church of Panagouda in Thessaloniki whereas from 1994 until 1998 he was a chanter at the church of Analipsis, Thessaloniki. In 1998 he was appointed first chanter at the same church, a post which holds until this day.
Since 1996 he has been teaching Byzantine Music at the City Conservatory of Drama and since 2000 at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. Since 2002, he has been teaching Folk singing at the Youth Center of Zoodochou Pigi church in Ampelokipoi and since 2005 at the Cultural Association of the Asia Minor refugees in N.
