AMARINA (Marina Solonos) is a Greek/Australian singer/lyricist/composer born in the island of Cyprus. She was raised in an artistic and musical environment. Her father has a doctorat in byzantine music, her brother is a producer/composer/guitar session player who also recently obtained a masters degree in music production. Her uncle(her mother's brother) is John Themis, a well known composer/guitar session player/producer in the UK who has written many number one hits worldwide for Kylie Minogue, Emma Bunton, boyband Blue etc. Amarina herself studied in University of Sheffield/UK and obtained a bachelors degree in Law. She composed and recorded her first song when she was 12. At an early age she formed her own band in Cyprus where she performed English pop and rock music in various venues. In 2001 she decided to move to Greece to pursue a singing career (in Greek language this time), remarkably without having any acquaintances in Greece at all at the time. Her first live performance in Greece was a collaboration with Goran Bregovic and from there on, she worked with numerous distinguished Greek artists .
