Toxika Apovlita

Toxica Apovlita is a hardcore/ska band from Athens-Greece, dedicated to the struggle against capitalism and fascism.

Toxica consist of 5 regular members (vox, guitar, sax, bass and drums) and other session musicians, depending on the needs of particular gigs and recordings. Their song themes are both political and entertaining, while their lyrics are in Greek because they care about what the local youth makes out of them, and also because they disagree with both economical and cultural globalisation.

They started 13 years ago but 5 of those were pretty hard because one of their members had been studying abroad. Therefore they’ve only managed to release 2 albums so far. The biggest band they ever played with were Banda Bassotti from Italy. The longest tour they’ve ever done lasted 10 months and included 18 live performances around Greece.

Another noticeable thing is the launch of their own record label (Polyethnic) in order to do their distro effectively, and maybe support other bands in the future too.
