Biography

Foteini Darra was born in Zakynthos, Greece, she is a singer and an actress. As a singer she appeared many times in front of the greek and international audiences participating in major concerts, such as in Epidaurus ancient theatre, in Herodium Roman Theatre, (beneath the Acropolis), in Biblioteca Alexandrina’s inaugurational festivities, in Paris at the Unesco’s salle Un, in the “Theatre Nationale de la France in Orleans” etc. As an actress she appeared in leading roles of both National Greek Theatre’s and State Theatre of Northern Greece’s big productions.

Foteini Darra has recently released her first personal CD album («Δελτίο Ανέμων», «Winds Forecast») containing songs of composer Dimitri Papadimitriou based on poems written by great poets. This latest release followed three other vastly successful soundtracks that made her a leading young singer in Greece (TV: “Leni”, “Leave!!” Sony music.

Cinema: “Fading out Sight”, Universal. Theatre: “The Birds” by Aristophanes, Universal) and granted her national and international prizes. She is now recording the role of Aretousa, in Nikos Mamagakis’opera “Erotokritos”and five songs, a part of Dimitri Papadimitriou’s work on internationally acclaimed greek poet C.P.Kavafy.
