Βελλιανίτη Ελίζα

Elisa Vellia was born and grew up in the heart of Greece, lullabied with the melodies of the land of her birth. Her love for adventure and discovery found her leaving Athens for London. It was in the London Underground that she came to discover the Celtic harp and it's music. With tremendous enthusiasm, she's worked alongside important names of the Irish and Scottish harp world and participated in the recording of two discs of Scottish music. Her musical journey brought her to Brittany where she settled, deciding that between the 'Two Seas', is the ideal place for her to express her own music, one with no borders. The singer-harpist, together with Christine, created the duo Sedrenn, who quickly becomes popular. Numerous concerts had them traveling throughout France and beyond. Elisa felt the strong desire to express herself in her mother tongue and return to the world of Greek music. Her first solo album, called “The thief of secrets”, was released in 2005 by Chant du Monde (World Song) of Harmonia Mundi (best-selling in this category for the year 2006).
