Born: 1974


Ioanna Forti was born in Athens in 1974. She studied piano, music theory and singing with Kostas Paskalis, Maria Koromantzou and Irini Tsirakidis. She has been a member of the Hellenic Radio Choir (1993–1999) and the Chorus of the Greek National Opera (1999–2000). She has appeared in major theatres in Greece, New York, London, Germany (Carnegie Hall, Queen Elisabeth Hall, Herodes Atticus Odeon, Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, Athens "Megaron" etc.) as a soloist in several operas and other works by Mikis Theodorakis, as well as works by composers Christos Leontis and Elias Andriopoulos. Since 2007 she has been collaborating with the GNO (Children's Stage & Operetta Stage). In 2008 she sang the role of Azucena in The Beggars' Operas' production of Il trovatore at Bios, Athens and participated in the Larissa Municipal Conservatory production of Th. Sakellaridis's operetta The Godson (O vaftistikos).
