Marianna Hatzopoulou was a popular Greek singer of the 1950s - early 1960s era. Though nearly blind (her nickname was the "blind sparrow"), Hatzopoulou appeared with great success in night clubs and tours. Among her hits were: (Long live poor people), (Zafira), (Chequered Skirt), (My Mother beats me), (The leaves have turned yellow), (As you celebrate today), (Farewell my love).
