Biography

Larkos Larkou, composer musician and music teacher from Cyprus, was born on February 6 th, 1973. He comes from Kondea village, Famagusta.
 
Initially, he studied theory in the "Greek Music School" in Larnaca and guitar in the Trinity College of Music.

1993-1998: Music Studies at the Music Department, The University of Athens.
1998-2001: He did post-graduate studies in the Music Department at the University of Athens on music anthropology and traditional Cypriot songs.

He attended classes on composition and orchestration. He works systematically on phonetics, plucked instruments (guitar, lute, ud, mandolin, mandola, bouzouki, tzouras, baglamas etc) and music technology.

He teaches music in Secondary Schools. He also taught at the Drama School - "Vladimiros Kavkarides", 2001-06 and at the Music Lyceum of Nicosia.

He is the founder of the world music bands “Songs of the world” and “Kyprogenia”. He is also a founding member of “Musical Youth of Cyprus” (member of Jeunesses Musicales international), of which he was the leader during the summer “Ethno Camp” in 2005, 2006 and 2008.
