He was born in Thessalonica in March 1970 and studied music at the Modern Conservatoire of the city. He performs professionally since 1986. His recording activity as a session musician dates back in 1992; since then he has participated in more than 100 productions. In recordings, concerts or television programmes he has performed with some of the most famous artists in Greece. He participated along with other 15 virtuoso players from all around the Mediterranean in the International Lute Meeting at the Music Palace of Athens in April 2005. He taught lute tanbour and tzoyra for 3 years in the School of traditional instruments of the Menemeni Municipality; for two years he also taught tanbour in the Musical School of Thessalonica, lute and folk guitar in the “en chordais” music school. Since 2001 he has been teaching folk guitar and lute in the Department of Popular and Traditional Music, at the Epirus Polytechnic. He has published his first book, which is a method of learning the lute, while under publication is his book on how to play the folk guitar.
